Tilecraft Puzzles

★★★★☆ 4.1 Editor rating

Tilecraft Puzzles looks like a standard match game at first glance, then keeps introducing new mechanics — tiles that shift, ones that lock, boards that rotate — right up until the end. That steady drip of new ideas is what kept me playing well past the tutorial stages.

Each level is a self-contained little problem, so it's perfect for one-handed play in a queue. There's an undo button and no punishing timers on the standard mode, which I appreciated. The difficulty ramps fairly, and the late levels genuinely made me stop and plan.

The presentation is a little plain and the music got repetitive, but the puzzle design itself is solid. If you like a thinker rather than a reflex test, it's worth a look.
